Regency Mall is an enclosed super-regional shopping mall that opened in August 1981, located in Racine, Wisconsin.[2] The mall has a gross leasable area of 872,409 square feet (81,049.4 m2).[1] It features about 100 stores and is anchored by Sears, Boston Store, JCPenney, Target, and Burlington Coat Factory. Recent stores joining the mall include Justice, The Children’s Place, C.J. Banks, Vanity and China King.
Originally, Burlington Coat Factory was a Bergner's, then Prange's that was converted to Younkers in 1992, which then closed in 2000. The McDonald's recently closed their mall operations. Steve & Barry's, a defunct clothing store occupied the former Younkers space prior to Burlington Coat Factory.
An Aladdin's Castle video arcade was in the mall when it opened and stayed in operation with a single name change to Namco after the company was renamed by its new owners. The arcade was moved to the other side of the mall before being purchased and renamed to Paul's Arcade where it continues to operate. It is one of the few area video arcades that have been in operation since the golden age of video arcade games.
The mall, aimed at middle-income customers and the largest in Racine County, had sales of over $100 million as of 2004.[3]
Singer Avril Lavigne performed at the mall in a March 2004 concert tour stop.[4]
